“The Artist” by Rakesh Pandey is a beautiful story and I loved it for many reasons. Pandey’s choice of words is exceptional and his prose is very refined. He draws the story from his personal life where he was taught the values of “compassion” and “generosity” by a beautiful woman, a complete stranger at that. While exploring the shop of a flute vendor at Dadar market, the writer was led into an experience that would change his perspective on life and perhaps give him a lesson on “human values”. This story really moved me, especially the ending. And my first thoughts after reading it were: do we really have such nice and humble people these days? I am sure TMYS readers are going to love this story. I can’t wait to read more from this writer.
