Frost collects on light green miniscule buds

It keeps the green in the ground from growing

Which dream of reaching the skies from the muds

While the cold harsh winds continue blowing

The clouds are gray- the color of sadness

The green in the ground continues to fight

No sun causes an uproar- a madness

The falling leaves strive for slivers of light

Night falls and bright blooms struggle to survive

Then, at the crack of dawn, they awaken

Entranced by the glow, they revive

Any chance of sleep, they have forsaken

As Spring’s sun falls prey to Winter’s night

Remember, in a dark time, there is light
