Did I imagine the journey I was to traverse as a soldier?
Lonely and bored, I felt many times,
Did that matter?
I was to look brave and strong.

Frozen, I felt many times, during my journey,
So what if I wear the uniform at odd hours,
There are happy family moments,
Rejoiced by me from distance.
Did that matter?
I was to look brave and strong,

Letters, I waited from home,
At times, this wait was for days together,
But that was not the reason to give up,
I felt tired and sad quite often,
So what, till I wore uniform.

To reach home, I travelled days together,
And reunited with family in excitement.
Temporary it was as days passed in haste,
And it was time to say good bye again
Some heartfelt moments I carried back,
Did that matter, till I wore uniform?
As a warrior, I was to look brave and strong,

Walked through mountains to discover,
Pace I kept in patience to reach my destination,
Tired I felt, in my journey,
But I kept my pace,
As a warrior, I was to look brave and strong.
