He came back from crematorium to his room, smelling of burning wood, flesh, tears and sweat. Everyone was sympathetic towards a husband who has lost his beloved wife in a tragic mishap at home. The reason of death as declared was brain haemorrhage due to slipping and falling down from stairs.

They got married 7 years back and since then, they were always together. Always seemed to be full of love for each other. Their marriage was talk of the town, not only because the only daughter of one of the most renowned businessman of the city got married, but also because she got married to a man who didn’t had any match to her class. Their driver’s son! The businessman, the father, got a shock of his life when he got the news, but then he didn’t have any choice than to accept them as he loved his daughter too much and couldn’t imagine her living a less than ordinary life.

Recently the couple made news when the wife inherited property worth crores after her father’ demise and she decided to build an orphanage in the name of her father. The husband seemed to be quite supportive of the decision too, though he didn’t speak much on the issue.

Another reason of deciding to build an orphanage was because, they didn’t have kids. Even after seven years of marriage, the wife was unable to deliver a baby. She got pregnant thrice, but had to suffer miscarriages twice and once she delivered a still born. After being unlucky for the third time, they stopped trying as the doctors warned the couple that another pregnancy could be very risky for the lady.

If only, she would be still alive for the project. Now the husband wanted to move out of the country. He missed her too much and didn’t want to stay in the same place, where they both had stayed together, dreamt of growing old together, now left alone. Alas, some dreams are never meant to be fulfilled.

The room was still smelling of the person who was no more. The fragrance of her body was still lingering everywhere as if she had never left. Though it had been only two days.

For a moment he also was taken aback by the fragrance. Was she still there, hiding somewhere? Then he noticed the broken pieces of his beloved wife’s bottle of perfume.
“Oh the bottle must have broken when she was trying to save herself from getting killed,” he thought. Only he knew that the real reason of her death was brain haemorrhage due to being pushed down the stairs.
