Prineet Bhat‘s “Unbelonging of Kashmiri Pandits” bares the heart that has been stabbed multiple times, sometimes from behind. Yet, that heart refuses to give up hope. It desires to find its rightful place…a place where it longs to belong. Despite the blood-sheds, the politicking, the verbal mud-slingings and stoic silence over the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits, that heart is devoid of any hatred even though it is forced to become a refugee in its own nation. Perhaps, Bhat subtly reminds us all that God created heaven, we made a hell out of it in his name — conveniently forgetting that we created God in the first place.
